Tunebook serves as a viewer for music represented in the ABC format, a simplistic text-based notation widely used in various music applications and freely accessible across the internet. The ABC format, mainly dedicated to traditional folk music, usually encapsulates tunes in a single-page layout.
Within Tunebook, users can import ABC format files from websites into its repository, enabling them to preview tunes, conduct searches based on title keywords, key, and time signature. Upon selecting a tune, users can view it in musical notation, listen to it through different voices, and curate personalized tunebooks to categorize their music collection.
Powered by the renowned abc2ps and abc2midi software, Tunebook operates under the GPL license. The application's source code can be accessed at http://www.jhlabs.com/tunebook.
